Saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday.

It was pretty damn good!
Alot of people will probably go watch it and only compare it to the Gene Wilder version from 1971. That movie was way ahead of its time, and this one is nutz!

Johnny Depp actually pulled off Willy Wonka very well. He made him wierd, and a lil creepy; but good.

I tried to sit back and watch the movie as if I've never known the story (as many young children of this generation will do). And I think I enjoyed it better because of that.

The oompa loompa didnt impress me much, because it was one man who they CGI'd into a thousand. But the actor (deep roy) pulled it off very well and was funny.

Danny Elfman......nothing needs to be said, hes the most insane musical director in the business right now.
We went with alot of fuckin people, something around15becuase we took up 1 1/2 complete rows out of the theater.

Lisa, leeanne, James, JT and myself went to the empress diner afterwards to bullshit, get some coffee and catch up on some stuff.
I really miss them, and its always good when theyre back on the island (JT and leeanne)
I wanna get a trip situation going up there soon. We'll see what happens.
Its rough when your best friends live 5 hours away from you :-\


So it's been a good weekend so far, despite this incredible humidity which doesnt break at all....and i must be the only person that doesnt have an airconditioner in the car or at home (FUN!)

Best part about the movie: Grandma Georgina's one-liners! "I Like Grapes"
